New
Year Message by Provost Goodwill College Of Health Technology,
Bwari-Abuja.(GOWCOHTECH)
1.
The
New Year’s Day has a symbolical significance since it is a day in which the
evaluation of finishing day is done and the objectives of the coming year are
planned. As the family of GOWCOHTECH, we have left behind a year taking
significant steps on the path to realise our vision to be an international
Primary Health Training Institution.
2.
Since
its foundation, GOWCOHTECH , although it is a newly-established college of
Health, has provided great contribution to health and education of the country
with the help of experienced professionals and has been giving the impression
that it is going to raise the level of standard training strategy we have
carried out until now.
3.
Colleges
of Health are supposed to be higher
education institutions in which knowledge is not only produced, but also be
transformed into wisdom by competent people and served to humanity and nature
as benefit. They must be institutions in which not fight and dogmas but consensus,
tolerance and profesionalism prevalence.
With these aspects, GOWCOHTECH must be a model to the society and act as the
supporter of social peace.

In
today’s world in which not the one who is right but the one who is strong have
a voice, it is inevitable for a one who is on the side of the right be strong
at the same time. Unfortunately, we have been witnessing the fact that
knowledge is used for the welfare of the dominant ones who transforms knowledge
to a devastating, tyrannizer and exploitative power. Although the source of
power is supposed to be knowledge and knowledge is supposed to be for the
welfare of humanity. Despite all sort of internal and external obstructiveness,
the developments within few years, our country has gained the opportunity to be
a regional power and global actor once again. In this respect, as the
institutions of higher education and health, Colleges of Health are supposed to
update their objectives and goals in this direction and present alternatives
for the utilization of knowledge for the health, welfare and profit of
humanity.
5.
With
these feelings, I wish that new year will provide a different acceleration to
intellectual transformation in a positive way; thank all members of GOWCOHTECH
who spent a quite successful year without considering working hours and wish
that the year 2019 will bring peace, tranquillity, happiness and brotherhood.
